in the upper left of screen with a red x in it. page wont
open.
Also sometimes I get same box with three colored designs

Anyone know what this is and how to get around it please.

Hi Robert :-)

See if this will help.

Red X Instead of Images - Can't see or save Images/Pictures

Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)

Try updating the Video Driver:

Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.
Click on Device Manager
Find Display Monitor and click on the + next to it
Double click on the file listed

Here you will find the information on your video driver. Then go to the
website for mfg. of the video driver and look for the update to download and
install.

Here's some MS and other articles you might check too:

I can't see JPG's or GIFS any more - red x - images missing - fuzzy
images/distorted images:

or try:

Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.

Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Show Pictures - check option if
unchecked to display pictures all the time.
