IE6 and Java

Hi all

I am using Internet Explorer 6 sp1 and am having trouble viewing java.
When I try to log into a site it comes back with the reply.
Your browser is not able to run Java Applets. You will need to obtain a
Java-capable browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator/Communicator

Can anyone please tell me whats going on here?

You need a Java Virtual Machine. Get one here:
http://java.sun.com/getjava
