IE6.0 default home page getting changed automatically

I am using win XP home edition and IE 6.0. My default
home page gets changed automatically. Everytime I reset
and close and open IE again, it changes.
I get an annoying pop up too.

How do I find out the culprit program?

the usual suggestions are:
1 are you using either adaware or spybotsd?

if not, d/l either, run the scan, then correct the "risks" as appropriate.

might be good to backup your reg first, but I doubt you'll have trouble.

2 if still not fixed, d/l hijackthis, then post at one of many forums, or
research the log items yourself.
