Sounds like the link is opening a new window. Have you checked to see if
that's the case?

If I am understanding you correctly, what may be happening
is that you are sort of "reaching a dead end", a popup
window that appears to be a browser, but isn't.

I have seen that happen any number of times. If you close
that window with the X, the window you were in previously
should be under the one you just closed.

Hope that helps.

Good luck!

Or, the ever-popular ALT-TAB, to bounce between all running program windows.

yes this is happening and when i want to go back the back arrow is not lit up
and i am forced to close out and start all over to go back to original page
please help thnx

If the web link wants to open a new window, there's not much you can do
about it, at least not with Internet Explorer. If you want to stay with that
browser, your next best option is to use the ALT-Tab keyboard shortcut,
which will toggle you to back and forth between the various open IE windows.

Your other option is to use a browse like Firefox, which can be told to
handle badly behaved web sites in ways YOU like. Here: www.getfirefox.com
