IE will not allow me to enter cetain websites

Since the last auto update I can no longer log into several websites. When I
try I get the message "your sessions has timed out"

I can log on to these sites using Firefox. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've tried removing IE 7 and that didn't fix it, tried to remove IE 6 but
wasn't successful. I'm using XP

What was installed in the last auto update? It's not the same for everyone.
Have you tried removing the updates through add/remove programs, then do a
system restore to before the first update was installed?

You can't really remove IE6.
