Can anyone tell me why my computer hangs up so bad. It does this opening
mail as well as websites. I have done all the normal cleanup, checked for
spyware and virusus - and everything is clean. My computer speed test comes
out really good also. I have lots of ram, so it is not a memory problem.
My computer was doing great up until a month or so ago. I have added
nothing new or done anything different. 6.0.29 is the version of IE. I run
on cable modem and the cable is fine (I had a guy out here to check that and
it runs over 9000 and sometimes 10,000.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have experienced much the same problem, but it extends to everything not
just running internet explorer. The computer has progressively got slower and
slower. and IE crashes from time to time.

Like you I ran all kinds of tests and everything checks out fine. I notice
that the hard drive is continuously and very busily working, which indicates
that the memory is full and it's using the hard disk too much for virtual
memory. Someone told me quite a while ago, that there can be too many
programs running that start themselves at system boot. But I have not found a
way to identify them or reconfigure startup processes. So I don't have an
answer, but maybe this is part of it.

Likiewise, I'm looking for a solution to extreme slowing down of my laptop.
My laptop has gotten slow to the point I can't use it online. Opening Word
takes minutes. This has been happening over a period of months.
