Hi,
If you believe there's a possibility that malware has changed
your system files causing these issues, or that in the process
of trying various recommended fixes, you've painted yourself
into a corner, then fear not! You can repair your Windows XP!
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and
Recommended updates from:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
For extra security: 1) Run a Virus Scan:

2) Run Spybot from:
http://security.kolla.de to remove Trojans, Adware,
and Spyware; 3) Install a Free AntiVirus:

Since you mention that Wild Tangent refers to Java in it's troubleshooting:
1. Click START / Control Panel / Internet Options and click on the Advanced Tab.
2. Below HTTP 1.1 is the Sun Java/ Microsoft VM section: Make sure all Java choices
are unchecked (especially JIT) and then press [OK]. You may be prompted to reboot.
3. If you don't see a Microsoft VM section then download Microsoft Virtual Machine for:
Windows 98 / Me / NT / XP from:
http://www.abxair.com/software/msjavx86.exe
4. After you download Java, double-click the file to install it, reboot and then follow
the directions in Steps 1. and 2..to disable JIT compiler and other advanced options.
* Whenever you get a Java Virtual Machine Security Update from Windows Update, you
will have to follow Steps 1. and 2..to disable JIT compiler and other adv. options again.

| Wild Tangent Game Channel preinstalled including some 15

| off-line games.) Serveral weeks ago Nortons deteted virus=
| JS.Exception.Exploit, access was denied and I immediately
| deleted temp.internet file where it was contained. Does
| not show up on current scans.
