IE Randomly shuts down

We have been experiencing problems with IE lately where the browser randomly shuts down. Our internet connection is maintained, but IE closes as if someone has clicked the X button. We then have to startup IE again and search for websites all over again. We have checked our PC for viruses and we are clean
Any help would be appreciated

This behaviour would typically be caused by a third party extension or
add-in causing IE to crash.

As a process of elimination try this:

START > CONTROL PANEL > INTERNET OPTIONS > ADVANCED > untick ENABLE THIRD
PARTY BROWSER EXTENSIONS

Close all explorer windows
