Hi

My IE is crashing very often and I do not know why. I start the the browser and then it opens but then seconds after I get a my peeling banana (hour glass basically) and then it freezes. I have to close it and then I get the Not Responding message. I can open new browsers and it works fine but crashes quite often

Also, i have this active-max thing that has integrated itself into the IE browser. It pops up this annoying search engine at the bottom of the browser that I have to close and also has built in extra channels on the top. It is Search The Web I think at http://srch.lop.com/. How can i get rid of this???? It also launches a search bar upon start-up.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

spybot search and destroy at safer-networking.org or if
your browser hijacker will not let you go to it ..use
another machine and burn it to cd,,install and then update
or scan.

You have probably inadvertently downloaded and installed adware,
spyware, parasite, trojan or a browser hijacker from some web site:
