IE opens multiple windows at XP startup

Has anyone had IE open multiple windows (30 or more) when
Windows XP starts up or wakes from Standby? They all open
blank (as I have selected in the Internet Options control
panel).

I then get a few (maybe 3 or so) messages after I kill all
the tasks that IE closed in an unusual way with a mention
about Java. That is possibly due to killing all the tasks.

pursue two paths to rid yourself of the nuisance.

1. Check the autostart options for false entries. Please see
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxAutorunCauses.htm for details.

2. Find, install, and run the free SpyBot and let it remove any
advertising software that may have nested in your computer.
