I am having the same problem as everyone else. IE won't
load. I tried to delete it so I could reinstall but even
the uninstall icon won't work. So I deleted the file and
tried to reinstall but it says there is a more current
version already on the computer. How do I delete any more
current verision so I can reinstall.

Someone has saved me with this and hopefully this will
save you. If you don't already have Ad-Aware, download
it and run it. Get rid of the files it comes up with and
then go to your Tools on the IE toolbar. Click on
Internet Options and then Advanced tab. Unclick the box
for Enabling the browser to accept third party cookies.
It will get you up and running again. Let me know how
you made out. Good luck!

Frank, I did what you suggested and it still won't load. I
ran a product called Spy Hunter to clean up HD, and it
worked perfectly on my ME and 2000, but on XP I can't get
IE back and I get the same message and the others "current
version yadda yadda. I've uninstalled IE, and tried
reinstalling and it won't load.I have the error report -
but I don't know what to do next.

Thanks.. Carol

What else can I try?
thanks

Carol,
Try what we just did. After cleaning up your files with
the spyware or Adaware, then go to your IE and open the
browswer. Then click on the Tools and choose Internet
Options. Click on the Advanced tab and disable the box
that has to do with accepting third pary cookies. It
works and you should be up and running. Let me know how
you made out.

Try everything at this site.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
