IE -- In Task Mgr Process, not showing up....

One of my clients has hit me with an interesting one.

When you double click/run IE, "nothing happens". Upon further inspection,
there IS an instance of the software that is being loaded -- it's in the
processes tab of task manager -- but it does not show up in the applications
tab and it is not accessible. It's as if it is running in hidden mode or
some such thing.

Any suggestions?

Yes. Have your client do the normal troubleshooting for viruses and
malware:

Which makes me wonder why MS integrated IE into Windows rather then just
providing it as a totally separate application. It would seem the later
to be a way easier way to fix/repair.
 
Hi James,

Could happen for several reasons. I know you spoke of running cleaners;
however, you didn't meantion which ones and that is the ticket in most
cases. Not to humor or bore you, run this combo and good luck!
