IE's started hijacking my homepage to Windows Update instead of the one I
have listed in Internet Options. How can I stop it and get it back to
working right?

Er, no, it hasn't. www.safer-networking.org, download SpyBot and perform a
systemwide scan. IE does not hijack.

May not be the same problem, but there are times , not often, that when I
click on IE it takes me to the Windows Update page.
I just X out and click on IE again and am taken to my home page.
Seems like IE is looking out the window at the birdies in the trees and not
paying attention, like a schoolboy in the springtime.
This has not become a problem, so it is just ignored.
If he finds he has a more serious problem -----
