How can I stop IE Helpers from trying to get on my
computer? I have installed Win Patrol and every minute
or so, I have a IE Helper trying to install. Is there
something I can remove to stop this?

Internet Options> Advanced.
Uncheck the boxes for the two "Install on Demand" items.
Restart browser for settings change to take effect.
