Running IE 6 on XP. For the last week or two, pages have
been slow to load, or do not load at all. Sometimes it
helps to click on refresh or stop buttons but too often
than not, an error message appears:
"IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience...If your were in the middle
of something the information you were working on may be
lost"
The error signature is as follows:
AppName:iexplore.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: iyus.dll
ModVer:0.0.0.0
Offset: 0000535c

IE then closes. AdAware and SpySweeper haven't helped.
Can you?

Most likely caused by a parasite.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.

Sounds like:

Trojan Horse PWS.Iyus.dll

My computer is infected with it and I get the exact same error
messages. I've tried Norton, AVG, and McAfee... and yes, my third
party browsing option is and has always been disabled.

I can't get rid of it. Let me know if you can.

Thanks.
