IE Favorites Menu

All of a sudden today the Favorites on my IE browser
aren't showing up. I thought maybe they had gotten
deleted so I started trying to add them again. When I
did I got a message stating that they were already there
and did I want to overwrite. I did that and they showed
up until I closed the favorites menu and tried to access
them again. What is going on?
 
This is a longshot but try this:

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, then scroll down Settings to "Enable
Personalized Favorites Menu" and disable this feature. Click on Apply & OK.
