IE favorites don't appear

I recently reinstalled XP. Prior to that I used the back-
up utility to back-up all my files. After restoring my
files, including my IE favorites, I found that the
favorites do not appear in the favorites menu within
Internet Explorer. When I check the favorites folder
from within Windows Explorer, all of my old favorites
that I restored ARE indeed there. They just don't show
up when I open IE. Any assistance anyone can provide
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
