Brand new Dell PC (less than a week old). I have 4 users associated with my
XP home operating system. On two of them (don't ask why, but my daughter and
wife) IE does not want to run MOST of the time. My son and I have no
problem.

The error received is:

Microsoft Visual C++ Library
Runtime Error!
Program C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Any ideas:
1. What would cause this for only some of my users?
2. Why, if I reboot, it goes away.
3. If it does work and I close explorer, sometimes it will work again and
sometimes I get the error?

It is very inconsistant.

All thoughts appreciated!

Remove the Google toolbar in their users. Restart.

If that fixes it you may be able to install it again.

Not sure why that would happen, but you may want to delete their profiles and
recreate them. This may clear it up.

Note: "On two of them (don't ask why, but my daughter and wife) IE does not
want to run MOST of the time. My son and I have no problem." - have you
watched over the wife and daughter shoulders and checked their technique?

Further information....

I have uninstalled the Google bar from Explorer. Didn't make any
difference.

It appears that Explorer isn't "sharing". The first person that signs
on the box gets to use the Explorer. Anyone else that signs on to the
box is denied access to Explorer by getting the C++ Runtime Error.
Reboot the box and any user gets to use Explorer and the rest are
essentially locked out with the error message!

Why won't Explorer, for lack of a better word, share? How do I make it
so that it can?

Many thanks.... Paul
