IE closes when saveing

Internet Explorer closes when navigating to save anything. I you save on
where it opens up to, that is OK. But if you navigate any where else, it
closes. I also noticed it does the same in Microsoft Word. All open windows
close without any log in the events. So what causes it and how do I get it
to stop this annoying activity!

Right-click the C: drive, click Properties, click Tools, and run the
"Error Checking".
