IE Browser wontwork in XP

With XP Home the browser will only download some web pages and not others. For example: Yahoo home page will be recieved fine but Yahoo Mail will not appear. We had the same problem on another computer but it was resolved when we installed XP Professional. That seems to sugest the problem is in XP Home. Any sugestions less expensive than XP Pro will be appreciated
