i have had a toolbar calling itself "ISEARCH" recently
attach itself to my IE Toolbar, ande i can't get rid of it.

On top of that, it has locked out my ability to customise
my toolbars (hence disable it). i can not find out where
i got it from, and none of my 'protective' programs
(ZoneAlarm, AdAware, SpyBot S&D, AVG Anti-Virus, or
PanicWare's PopUpStopper) are picking it up.

i have tried uninstalling and reloading IE6, and have even
reformatted my computer, all to no avail.

i don't want it there, and can not get rid of it.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Open your browser, go to "Tools", then "Internet Options". Click on the
"ADvanced" tab, and then scroll down to the "Browsing" area. If there is a
checkmark in the box "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires
restart)", clear that checkmark, hit "Apply" and "OK" and then close your
browser. Reboot your machine.

This should take away the weird toolbar.

To get rid of the adware that is causing this, you might wan to try running
Ad-Aware while you're PC is in "Safe" mode (reboot, and hit the F8 key
before Windows starts and then choose "Safe" mode. It will load up Windows
and the Adware extensions shouldn't load, so then you can run Ad-aware or
another Spyware cleaner to hunt it out.

Make sure your Spyware cleaning program has all of the latest updates.
