Several times a day, and for no apparent reason suddenly
all internet explorer windows close. The program
basically just quits- no error message, no warning, no
notification that anything went wrong. Recently, I have
installed nothing except windows updates, a google search
toolbar, and adobe acrobat 6.0. The computer was
purchased new on the 15th of June 2003.

Hi!
Have you checked the Event Viewer?
Sometimes Google toolbar causes problem.You may uninstall
it and re-check.
Scan your PC with antivirus/adware/spybot.
