Recently had to replace HD and reload XP. Now when I get on internet I
keep getting various pop-ups (?) from MS telling me that the page is
"unavailable while offline" and gives me a option to 'connect or stay
offline'. Everytime I check out task manager I notice that
'Iexplore.exe' is running so I delete it and it comes right back in a
minute or so. Since I am running Mozilla 1.7.3, I don't need to have IE
running. I have stopped windows update, windows message and IBM message
and yet I still get MS notices.
Is there something that I am missing?
This is becoming a very big pain, so any thoughts, suggestions, ideas or
whatever would be appreciated
TIA

Though you have changed your default browser, you still need to Windows Update fixes, as they pertain to the system, not only for the browser. IMHO.
