IE address bar won't "drop down"

is there anything i can do to fix this? some days it works and other's it
won't and i don't know what to do about it.
 
I am not sure that I understand your problem. Anyway, right click a
vacant part of your toolbar in IE and select 'Address Bar'.

When I click the arrow head that points down it is supposed to show all of
the previouse addy's that have been typed into the address bar. But nothing
shows up.
 
What shows up if you go to C:\WINDOWS\History and d.c. 'Today'?

Also, r.c. Internet Explorer on desktop > c. Properties > what number of
days have you got shown in 'Days to keep pages in history'?

The latter controls what is shown in the dropdown menu of the IE Address
Bar. Mine is set at 0 so I have no history shown in the IE Addresss Bar
dropdown menu.
