I have been neglecting to place my Favorites in seperate folders as I
bookmarked and as a consequence I now have something like 400 bookmarks. IE
6 of course allows you to move them, but apparently only one at a time. I
need to be able to highlight numerous bookmarks so they can be moved en
masse. Any add ons or freeware to do this?

You could just navigate to c:\windows\favorites in Explorer, then make
folders to your taste and cut/paste in bulk to your subfolders. Nothing more
complex really required.

IE bookmarks are files (*.url files), so why not use a file manager?
TrackerV3 does preview the targets of *.url files in its HTML preview area,
which will help a lot when organizing your 400.

This may not be the answer you want, but I'd mention in case anyone is
interested that a big advantage of Firefox is that you can search
bookmarks. I am just careful to put all the keywords I can think of in
the bookmark's name (FF supports keywords as well, but I myself don't
use them). Then type "fre" in the search box to restrict it to freeware,
french translator and fresh fish, etc. I don't even bother to organise
them carefully into folders.

HTH,

Simply the best way : no cost, easy, fast, build-in. I do it only that way
when I want to reorganize
