I seem to have a program level problem with IE 6 SP1 on a
system with Windows ME. All other programs on the computer
seem to run fine, but upon launching IE, it a little slow
connecting to the internet, and then won't do much else. I
did uninstall some totally unrelated programs from the
computer some days ago, did not notice a problem then. I
updated a driver on the mouse a few days back, did not
notice a problem then. I've scanned for viruses - none. I
scanned with Ad-Aware for whatever it might find, some
cookies were found but nothing to speak of. The only other
problem I've discovered (in attempting to fix IE) is that
I can not get System Restore to restore the system to a
point when I knew all was working.? Of course it won't
address the System Restore issue, but is uninstalling /
reinstalling IE 6 my remaining option for the browser?
Thanks.

Well here's a new one for me. The problem is apparently
with the home page (MSN). I happened to launch IE6 to
another web page, and to my surprise it worked perfectly
fine. I wandered around the net and all pages came right
up, everything (toolbars etc.) worked normally UNTIL I
went to MSN. Then nothing worked right, if at all. Closing
IE6 and logging back on to another page straightened it
right out. Obviously MSN is no longer the home page.
