I am trying to install the latest version of IE from the website. I had
trouble with it so I uninstalled it and am using Netscape for the time
being. I downloaded the .exe but it tells me the version I have is
newer than the setup version and setup will not continue. But I don't
even have it anymore. Where is the file leftover that it is checking
that I can get rid of? Thx.

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\inf\ie.inf

The edit works ok but when I type the above in Run I get an
Install Failed message.

Hi,

Enable Reinstallation of Internet Explorer or OE (Line 114)

After running this edit, rename the CatRoot2 folder (Windows\CatRoot2) and
then Go to Start/Run, and type:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\inf\ie.inf

OK. I am able to get the installation going now but when it's
installing the "Not XP Certified" window pops up and says this software
will not be installed. Usually I get the option to continue anyway but
this one had no option.
