Running Windows XP pro, v.2002, No anti-virus software or
personal firewalls (firewall is on router). Already
checked for adware/spyware - none found.

Windows auto-update upgraded to IE 6. Since then,
browsing is VERY slow. Example - trying to fill in
blanks on web forms is VERY slow, extreme delay in typed
letters vs. showing up in boxes on page. I
disabled "active scripting" under custom security
settings menu - has seemed to help speed up somewhat.
But I keep having to go back and enable active scripting
to visit sites like hotmail! Is this a Java Script
problem? Please advise source and/or fix ASAP please!

Also, IE6 tends to crash and close whenever I use the
keyboard shortcut for closing windows (ALT + F4) more
than a few times per session. Brings up an error msg,
asks me whether I want to send an error report, then
closes - forcing me to re-launch IE. Advice?

TIA!

J,
Make sure you run diskcheck on C: , my computer, c: properties,
tools, Error Checking, Check Now, Automatically fix filesystem errors.
You'll need to reboot for the disk check to run. After rebooting
(and waiting for the disk check to complete) then go into Control
Panel -> internet options and clear your history and delete all of
your temporary internet files.

This should do it. Apparently it's a Fat32 related problem.

Cheers,
_GP_
