IE 6 sp1 loads extremely slow - Windows XP Pro

When I double - click the IE icon, it takes ages to load
the first page (up to 5 minutes). After the first page
everything goes as fast as before.

When I click file - new browser window, it loads
immediately, but when I click the icon again, or click a
link that opens a new window, it takes a few minutes, every
time.

Really annoying is this also happens when using offline
data. Some of my programs use IE, but all the data are
local. So by using Netcape I can only solve my surfing
problems.

Same thing on Outlook: every email takes a few minutes to
display.

I already checked for spyware.

Any suggestions ?

How did you check for spyware?

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
