IE 6 SP1 hangs

TMy IE 6 SP1 hangs/ freezes when I type an adress in the
URL bar. I accessing the internet Mthrough a a Proxy
server. I have reinstalled the IE several time with no
luck for a fax. Any ideas

Go to Tools > Options > Advanced. Check "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy
connections"

Tools | Internet Options
Click "Clear History" and "Delete Files".
