Why on earth would the Internet shortcuts I have on my desktop all start
opening a printer dialog box??! My "Favorites" all still work
properly, but any shortcut created and placed on the desktop does NOT
open the browser--just a box asking me which printer I want to send the
"output" to!

XP SP1

Any hints?

Thanks...

Scott,

Download the .URL association fix from here and apply the changes:

I don't know what happened, but this fixed it!:

Go to Start/Run, then type: regsvr32 urlmon.dll (including the
space)and press OK.

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and
click on the Reset Web Settings button. Try the shortcut again.

Thank God for newsgroups!

:-)

Ramesh,

Thanks for the patch... I discovered a solution in another post! I'll
keep this fix available in the event it happens to me again!

Thanks again...
