It seems to only be when I'm trying to access secure
sites. I have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions
Microsoft had. I'm just not getting anywhere and it's
getting frustrating now.
Oh, and I can't get into Windows Update correctly either.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the message that pops up is "Internet explorer cannot
open the following Internet site (site name). Operation
aborted.", I was having the same problem (and it was
driving me around the bend!).

The solution for me was to run Spybot (at
http://www.safer-networking.org/ and make sure to get the
updated scan pattern). When I ran it, I removed the
CoolWWWSearch entries it discoved and I was happily
surfing right after.

Hope this helps,
Greg
