Dan

Hi. I am new to this forum, so don't know whether I'm
posting this problem in the right area.

I am writing this on behalf of a friend who has recently
managed to get access to the Internet from home. (She is
running XP Home on a P4 computer). She said that she
installed the ISP product OK, signed on OK, but she says
that whenever she opens up IE 6, the page comes up as not
being displayed. When she types in any other web address,
she gets the same response.

I've tried, in my knowledge, to rectify the problem, but
nothing I do seems to work. The only thing I haven't done
is to uninstall and reinstall IE 6. Where can I download
this from? Or, is there a solution without the hassle of
having to unistall / re-install it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.

Daniel

Hi there Dan,

This seems to be an ongoing problem, especially after installing XP
SP1. Here are some suggestions:

Check to see if the sites are listed here, if so delete them.

Go to: Windows\System32\DRIVERS\etc. In the right pane open your hosts
file using Notepad.

Page Cannot be Found and/or DNS/Server Error (Line 68)
