I have a machine that someone has unchecked the "Always
ask ..." part of the File Download Dialog Box and I now
want to restore it so I will see the dialog box again.
Currently, the program opens rather than giving me the
opportunity to save it first. Also, when I right click to
access the "Save Target as" I get an error so that is why
I need to restore the dialog box. Question: How do you
restore the dialog box on IE 6, Win2K system?
Any thought greatly appreciated.

Ron,

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".

Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".

Change to the "File Type" tabs.

Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.

Then check the option "confirm open after download".
