IE 6.0 hangs all the time

I've got IE 6.0 on Windows XP.
My browser will hang and stop responding. It seems to
occur when a pop-up ad tries to open and then locks up
before completing. I ctrl-alt-del to task manager and
close the browser. The thousands of error reports that
ive sent microsoft are all the same its a hungapp error
with iexplore.exe
SP1 has not helped, I've even removed it a couple of times
to no avail. Windows update says I have all the updates
installed

Any help.

I am having the same problem. The problem exists only
with IE 6.0. I can connect to the Internet fine w/
Netscape & AOL (I have a cable modem). I think this
problem is linked in some way to the pop up
add "www.odysseus.com". I noticed that this pop up add
which I can't get rid of came up at about the same time I
started experiencing my problems.

I think many of us are having similar problems, with no help in resolving it
