IE 6.0 - cannot put cursor in any search fields

We run internet explorer on Dell, Windows 2000
workstations. One two of the stations users cannot type in
any search field for any web page. We can open IE 6.0, we
can type in a URL to go to a web site but once on a
website such as yahoo or google users cannot type in any
search term. We also cannot fill in any online forms,
enter passwords to subscription sites.

I suspsect someone has changed a setting but cannot find
out where.

Can anyone help?

First eliminate any scumware.
