Identifying folders (Windows' v mine)

In Windows Explorer how can I distinguish quickly between folders I have
created and those created automatically by Internet Explorer when I have
saved web pages? Ideally the latter would be given a different kind of folder
icon. Is this possible?

Probably doesn't help at this point, if you've lost track of things, but if
you right click on a folder and then click Customize, you can change to icon
to whatever picture you like.
 
Thanks for the suggestion but it would be far too laborious to go through
that procedure for every folder. And there doesn't seem to be a way of
changing them in batches. I was hoping I could set a default folder icon for
web pages I save. I'm surprised this isn't possible.

Those folders are NO different to any other folder: they just happen to
have been created by saving out a thicket of HTML page elements.

You might be able to use a third-party folder-colouring add-in to
accomplish what you want. (e.g. from a quick Google:
