i received mail from my email antivirus team to update windows
security to avoid the damage caused by Trojan.Satiloler.B and they
also provided a link which goes to Microsoft Security Bulletin
MS06-001.
there find Security Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB912919) and
some more updates are available for Windows XP with various kb
numbers.
can i know what these kb number stands for ?
They don't "stand for" anything. They identify particular Microsoft
Knowledge Base (kb) articles. KB912919, for example, refers to this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=912919 The article describes a particular
Windows problem and a fix for that problem.
do i have such numbers
included with my windows XP ?
No. KB numbers aren't part of Windows. The particular patches that they
refer to are, however, identified with those KB numbers. To see which fixes
you have installed, Go to Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs, and make
sure the box Show Updates is checked. Down toward the bottom of the list,
you will see "Windows - Software Updates," followed by a list of which you
have installed, each identified by a particular KB number where appropriate.
