It appears possible to share my desktop's internet
connection EITHER via the ethernet card OR via the USB
WiFi adaptor, but apparently not both simultaneously.

Is there any way both devices can co-exist on the bridge
so that the connection can be shared simultanesouly on
both WiFi and ethernet??

It's easy:

1. Disable ICS if it's enabled.

2. Disable XP's Internet Connection Firewall on the Ethernet card and
USB WiFi adapter if it's enabled.

3. Create a network bridge between the Ethernet card and USB WiFi
adapter. I've written a web page with details:

XP ICS - Network Bridge

http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/networkbridge.htm

4. Enable ICS. If it asks, tell it to use the network bridge for the
home network connection.

If the network bridge doesn't seem to be working, see this site:

You'll need to connect the wireless clients to a WAP that
connects to the hub/switch/router for wired clients.
Preferably a switch or router with a fixed IP address for
ICS.
