I have 2 pc's using a dialup service, both machines are using XP Pro
Host machine name: AMD
Client machine name: Intel
Workgroup: mshome
Host: 192.168.0.1
Client: 192.168.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Problem: Host can view clients machine and files. Client can't see host.
Host machine:
ping 192.168.0.1 - OK
ping amd - OK
ping localhost - OK
ping intel - Fail
ping 192.168.0.2 - OK

Client machine:
ping 192.168.0.1 - OK
ping amd - OK
ping localhost - OK
ping intel - OK
ping 192.168.0.2 - OK

Client machine can't surf the web.
Any help would be appreciated....

first what kind of equipments you using to connect two pc?
or you just connect them together using the NICs? are the
two pc using two seperate dialup service or you sharing
the internet connection?
I assume you sharing your internet connections throught
your host machine, you cant ping intel because the DNS,
you dont have to worry about it, you want to surf the web
on the client machine you have to set the host machine as
the gateway to the internet.
do the following on the client machine
My Network places--->properties--->local area network--
properties-->internet protocol(TCP/IP)-->properties--
click "use the following address"
ip address: your client address
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
default gateway: your host address
