Icons are not appearing

My icons are not appearing. After I click on the user
name on the opening screen it will be there for maybe 2-3
mins, then i have to wait for about 5-10 for the icons to
appear on the desktop. After 5-10 mins then it will
appear. The taskbar and start menu is there but if i try
to go to it even before the desktop icons appear, it will
be stuck . Please I need you help
