Icons all labelled with a single "a"

Here's a good one from my dad. He calls me to say all his
icons labels have been replaced with the letter "a".
Whenever he clicks on any icon, his AutoCAD program
starts. He can't do a Programs\accessories\system
tools\system restore either. It starts AutoCAD. Is
there some sort of "scanreg /restore" option available?

If he right clicks on any icon what comes up? If he then clicks on
"Properties" it should show the program name lets say "Photoshop" and
then the path. If the path shows Autocad then he needs to change it back
to where Photoshop is. This will mean that autocad went and changed all
the paths to itself and you have to rechange each and everyone. Perhaps
someone else can suggest something easier. :-)
