Is it possible to drop the shadows on icon labels on the
desk top. in windows 2000 pro. I know how to do this with
windows xp but 2000pro seems to be different. Thanks Ray

AFAIK, no way to get shadows.

However, there are utilities to change the text color and make the
text background transparent - e.g., the free Activicons from
http://www.cursorarts.com/ca_ai.html (these options are on its
"Interface" screen under "Set desktop icon background").

There's always the option of modifying desktop icons and
adding your own shadows. Lotsa work though.
