It might seem a simple problem to some, but being new to
computers, I am having a problems permanently setting my
Icon style. I am running Windows XP Home Edition. Every
time I open a folder from the Desktop, the files within
that folder have different Icon settings (on Tiles). Each
time I have to go to "VIEW", on the top task bar and
scroll down past the "Tile" setting and reclick on
the "Icon" to reset its appearance. Can I set the
computer up so I don't have to go through this procedure
each time when I open a folder?

Make your settings for one folder, then go to Tools > Folder Options >
View and press the "Apply to all Folders" button.
