Icon cache keeps changing...

I changed my icon cache by adding a string 'Max Cached Icons' in my
registry with the value of 4096. This really speeded things up,very
happy. Now I've noticed that running windows explorer is changing the
string to a dword with the value of 2000, slow icon refresh, not happy.
Any suggestions?

The Windows Explorer does not change that entry. However, your problem
has been reported several times and that change occured when starting
the Explorer. Those users had Norton Anti-Virus installed, however,
since they didn't want to uninstall that stuff, it's not for sure that
Norton is the culprit in that case. Use "RegMon for Windows v7.04"
