Hi,
We had a local power failure a couple of days ago, which resulted in the PC
obviously shutting down 'uncontrolled.' It re-booted OK and I've run CHKDSK
with the /r parameter to repair any data damage on the HD. As soon as the PC
booted back up after the the power came back, but before I ran CHKDSK, an
icon of a file named with the tildy character (~) and underlined has
appeared on the Desktop. The file is 172Kb. I moved the original one to a
seperate folder, but after a reboot, there is another one back on the
Desktop. Is there something Windows wants me to do
? I'm running Windows
XP Home with SP1.
Thanks
Ian
