Hello..

If anyone can help me with this I'd REALLY appreciate it. I cannot shutdown my computer NOR Re-start my computer when I try to do so. My PC will go into the stand by mode, but thats it. If I have to shut it off I literally have to unplug it...and thats not good to do it like that either..but I have no choice

Also, the ONLY time my PC will restart is if I download a windows update, and then it will automatically restart itself...but other than that...it will not restart . I guess it's called a warm re-boot ....not sure. But PLEASE help Me :O
Thanx in Advance....Sherry

Hi,
Try typing "shutdown -s" or "shutdown -r" in the run command then click OK.
Don't include the quotes, -s should shutdown & -r should reboot.
That will at least let you do what you want, then you need to find out why
the PC wont work. Is you virus scanner up to date because it sound like you
have a virus.

You could also try adding -f to either of the shutdown commands which should
force programs to close. i.e. shutdown -s -f
