I would like to COMPLETELY reset my computer

ie. Send it back to it's state when i turned it on for the first time.
Delete files and uninstall programs. I have already backed up all important
files.

My computer is a Fujitsu-Siemens Si-1520 laptop from August 06 and i am
using Windows XP home. I have my windows disk.

I tried putting the disk in and pressing the right buttons with the result
that all programs were uninstalled (GOOD) but ALL the files I originally had
were STILL THERE (BAD). This included program files and old user files. There
are now remnants which I cannot delete. I have tried finding answers at this
site and many others but have not found a clear guide.

Please help me. Ed

Ed,

If you're talking of a format drive... then boot using your Windows disc...
When setup starts, delete the partition C:\, re-create it, format in NTFS,
install Windows XP & choose acticate by calling Microsoft... That's if you
have an original Windows XP disc & a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) too
with your serial number...

Do you have an XP installation CD or an OEM recovery CD? If the latter
contact the OEM for information on how to install XP. For the former see
