I want to preview my email

At work.. as long as i have my email open when i recieve messages a little
window will pop up to the side showing some of what the message says and who
sends it. Is there a way Microsoft email can do that?

No, neither Windows Mail nor Windows Live Mail can do that.
But Mozilla Thunderbird can.
