You would have to assign a 'default application' to that type of file that
has the ability to open more than one instance of itself. For example,
highlighting any number of *.TXT files will open that many Notepad windows.
Doing that to a *.JPG file, on the other hand, will only 'preview' one file,
in only one window. This is because the app viewing the jpg only allows ONE
'instance' of itself to be open at a time. Notepad allows more than one
simultaneous window.

And WHY ON EARTH would you want to open 100 Excel files?

That was going to be my question too.

If there are 100 excel sheets you need to open at once, why not import them
into 1 excel file and make each it's own tab? Then you open that one file
and you have all the tables.

This has been hashed out before. The usual request is to select 16 or more
text files in Windows Explorer, hit Enter, and have them all open in
separate Notepad windows. Vista limits the number of instances to 15.
I just tried with Notepad and Excel, and could only open 15. SP1 didn't
change it.

thank you!!!!!

i got it~~~
